About Us

Early in 2018, a group of local churches and community members gathered to address the problem of not having a Homeless Shelter for men in Pickaway County.

We have all come together to open the Hope House of Pickaway County. This is an emergency shelter open 9pm-9am seven days a week. Our guests are provided with dinner, breakfast, and lunch for the next day. Our guests have access to laundry facilities and hot showers in a relaxed home-type environment.

Activities

Hope House of Pickaway County is in the business of changing and shaping lives. We find to do this our efforts must include a mix of providing direct service, linking guests to supports, advocating on behalf of our guests, participating in community discussion and education of what is homelessness, and fundrasing or grant searching to fund operations.

Our work as a Non-Profit is aimed at providing a holistic approach to solving some of our society’s biggest challenges by focusing first on providing the basics of living for our guests - shelter, food and hygiene. Then partnering with other organizations we are able to encourage and direct our guests along the path toward stable independence one step at a time.

The Streets

Homeless Advocacy

We work with other organizations and community members to raise awareness and coordinate efforts to support our homeless through the problem solving of program creation, charity coordination and educating the general public for the purposes of legislative change that could assist in reducing the predominace of homelessness.

Other outreach additionally includes our coordination with like organizations outside of the county to learn workable solutions while staying informed of the depth of this need in our country and community.
